Hello and welcome to my blog!

I’m a family man in my early forties.

In almost twenty years of professional experience as a structural engineer and intrepreneur I learned about the importance of approaching business from a creative angle.

I am co-founder of Cresco Group (www.cresco-group.com and www.cresco.co.nz) an engineering firm with a high scale project portfolio in 32 countries and with offices in Europe and Australasia.

When downturn in the economy hit my industry hard I decided to follow my childhood dreams: to become an inventor.

In the last four years I developed and patented technologies for the construction industry: REDUCED FRICTION FORMWORK FOR A CONCRETE SLAB pat. 625918 (commercial application: Seismat™),  METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR FORMING A FORMWORK FOR A CONCRETE SLAB pat. 625921 (commercial applications: Armadillo™ Foundation System. http://www.armadillo-foundation.com and Firth RibRaft® Xpod™ http://www.firth.co.nz/residential/foundations/xpod/), APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR RELEVELLING A SLAB pat. 618663 (commercial application: Armadillo™ Jacking Pad – see my post Introducing a new technology to relevel buildings) and A MODULAR BEARING SYSTEM pat. app. 720615 (commercial application: Pixel™).

Hard work. And a lot of fun.

I am sensitive to environmental issues and I am actively involved in promoting environmental awareness in the building industry (I have also been a lecturer at University of Genoa for three years for a course about Sustainable Design).

I believe in the importance of sharing knowledge and fostering cooperation and I thought that what has been helpful to me along the years might be helpful to you too.
